Edward Burtynsky
This photo appeals to me just because it has an amazing combination of colors and looks almost drawn or painted.

5 Ways to improve
The ideas from the website could help improve my photos because it gave ideas I had not thought of.
For instance, recreating someone else's art. There are cool thing that you see every day but don't have a camera. By having a camera near by throughout the day I would be less likely to miss these photo opportunities. Telling a story in multiple pics or using a prop in a new way would also be a good way to improve my photo creativity. Finally, shooting something like food could turn out fun. A printed image of food and other objects, if done correctly can appear 3d.

portrait 2
Asked a friend to sand in front of a white board so I could take a portrait photo. I used the white board because it provided a simple background. I let him choose his pose.

This is a photo of my half sister I took while visiting my dad. The picture was taken indoors but a skylight provided natural lighting.

SNAP SHOT HW JAN 29
On the rare occasion that a snap shot can be considered fine art, the photo is most likely to be of nature. This is because fine art needs to have at least one of the 7 elements of art and all 7 can be found nature. There are other times when a snap shot can be considered fine art, but it must have at least one of the 7 elements.

This photo has a sad emotional effect. This image from a camp in Afghanistan, for the survivors of a landslide that buried 2,000+ people, is a reminder of how lucky we are to live in America.
Man vs. Nature
This picture reminds us that we are not as powerful as we sometimes think. All man made creations eventually succumb to nature.
Dark Hedges
The sense of mystery portrayed be the image leaves the viewer curious about its origins. It also captures the beauty of nature.
Tower
This picture demonstrates how amazing nature can be and how small we are compared to it. It also provides a sense of calm.
